In this exciting new workshop we will cover all the basics to provide you with the knowledge and techniques required to start creating your own simple designs for unique wearable garments. During the course you will each make a skirt inspired by the fabulous fashions of the 1950's...
Notions & Threads - inspiration for design
Fabric selection - colour me beautiful
Pattern layout, pinning and cutting techniques
Garment construction - putting it all together
Stitching up - waistbands & hems
Adding trims & extra details - make it your own
Pressing & presentation - and general showing off!
This will be small friendly workshop for 2-4 people with 6-8 hours of tuition and expert guidance and is suitable for beginners to dressmaking. All equipment and materials will be provided for you.
(you are welcome to bring your own fabrics & trims to work with, but please check material type/measurements with me first)

The workshop tutor will be Amy Wilson of 'Liliane Boutique' (est. 2009), who graduated from The London College of Fashion (LCF) in 2003 with a FDT Fashion Design Degree and has also completed a BA (hons) in the design and construction of contemporary textiles, 2011 at Norwich University College for the Arts (NUCA).
